Annapurna Himal (8,091m/26,545ft.) is one of the well-known eye-catching mountains located in western Nepal. Annapurna is a Sanskrit name means “Full of grain” but normally translated as “Goddess of the Harvest” Annapurna trekking one of the best trekking areas for trekkers. Trekkers take it as ‘The garden of Eden’ because of its rich combination of snow-capped mountains, crystal clear lakes, turbulent rivers within gorges, Tibetan monasteries, hot springs and picturesque villages inhabited by simple, friendly indigenous people like Brahmins, Chhetris, Gurungs, Magars, Newars, Manangis and Tibetans with their variety of cultures and lifestyles. In 1950 Annapurna I became the first mountain above 8000m to climb successfully in the world. Due to mountaineers and increased population, its environment is being deteriorated. Annapurna conservation Area Project (ACAP: World Heritage list in by UNESCO) is protecting it. You will surpass through valleys, dippiest gorge, sub-tropical lowlands with oak, rhododendron, bamboo forest and mighty scenes of Kali Gandaki and Marsyandi valley, Gangapurna glacier Muktinath temple. Flora and fauna contain the unbelievable wildlife as Kokla, multi-colored Impeyan, blood pheasant, butterflies, insects including snow-leopard and blue-sheep are not uncommon in this bestowed region. Annapurna trekking has sub-tropical lowlands, valleys and alpine meadows. Annapurna Himal and the town of Pokhara dominate Annapurna Area. There are three major trekking routes in this region to Jomsom, to Annapurna Sanctuary and Annapurna circuit. It takes three-weeks to complete Annapurna trekking.
