Gaden-Samye Valley Trek is one of the original and oldest trekking trails in Tibet. We will begin our journey with a sightseeing tour in Lhasa. Our list includes the 17th-century Potala Palace, the summer palace of Dalai Lama-Nobrbulinka, Barkhor Street as well as Sera and Drepung Monastery.
It takes you to Samye Valley, home of the Samye Monastery, Tibet’s oldest monastery, built in the 8th century AD. We will also visit and circumambulate Ganden Monastery (4180m) en route. Ganden Valley lies by the Kyi Chu River which majestically runs through the western part of Tibet.
The trail involves crossing the two highest mountain passes of Shug La (5450m) and Chitu La (5100m). One of our memorable journeys would be through Tsotup Chu Valley where we will encounter rivers, ravines moraines, and verdant Juniper woods. We will finally traverse through Yarlung Valley and finally exit Lhasa. The trek will bring you closer to the values and wonders of Tibetan Buddhism.
