Nepal is Open for All Travelers September 23, 2021

Nepal has officially removed quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated international travelers, making it easier and more convenient than ever to plan your trip to this beautiful Himalayan nation. The decision was announced by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation as part of the government’s continued efforts to revive tourism and ensure a smooth travel experience for visitors.

No Hotel Quarantine for Vaccinated Tourists

If you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you are no longer required to undergo the previous 14-day hotel quarantine upon arrival in Nepal. This means you can immediately begin your holiday, whether you are heading for trekking adventures in the Himalayas, cultural sightseeing tours in Kathmandu Valley, jungle safaris in Chitwan, or spiritual journeys to Lumbini.

However, there are still a few important entry requirements you must follow:

COVID-19 Test Requirement

All fully vaccinated travelers must present a negative COVID-19 test report (PCR or other approved test) taken within 72 hours prior to departure. It is essential to carry a printed copy of your test result as well as proof of full vaccination to show to immigration authorities upon arrival.

Mandatory Online Form Submission

The Government of Nepal has made it compulsory for travelers to complete an online arrival form before traveling. This form is available through the official CCMC (COVID-19 Crisis Management Center) portal. Visitors must fill out the form accurately and upload the required documents, including vaccination certificates and COVID-19 test reports. Once completed, travelers should keep a copy (digital or printed) for verification at the airport or border entry point.

Land Borders Now Open

In addition to air travel, Nepal has reopened all major land entry points for tourists who wish to enter the country overland. This is excellent news for travelers coming from neighboring countries or those planning regional South Asian tours.

What This Means for Your Travel Plans

The lifting of quarantine restrictions significantly simplifies travel procedures and reduces both travel time and extra accommodation costs. Nepal warmly welcomes international guests and remains committed to maintaining health safety standards while promoting tourism.

Whether you are planning a trekking expedition, a cultural exploration, or a relaxing holiday, Nepal is now more accessible and traveler-friendly than ever before.
