Nepal is located in South Asia between India and China, the two most populous states on earth. The country is brick-shaped, bounded by the Himalayas in the North and flat plains in the south. The country is diversely colorful in terms of language, culture, religion, ethnicity, and geography.
The total population is approximately 26 million. There are around 102 castes/ethnic groups in Nepal who speak over 100 different languages. Each of these ethnic groups has their religion, culture, lifestyle, and tradition.
Nepal is the country of the Himalayas. The 8 out of 10 highest mountains including Mt. Everest is in Nepal. There are over 1300 mountains above 6,000 m, most of which have been opened for trekking and climbing. These mountains feed thousands of rivers in Nepal. Some of the best rivers for white water rafting are in Nepal including Bhote Koshi, Kali Gandaki, Tamur, and Trisuli to name a few.
Nepal is more popular for trekking and mountaineering than any other sport. Thousands of tourists come every year to trek and climb mountains in Nepal.
The southern plains with tropical forests present an ideal habitat for thousands of wild beasts such as Royal Bengal Tigers, Elephants, Crocodiles, Dolphins, horned rhinos, and many others.  The Chitwan National Park is world famous for jungle safari.
Altogether UNESCO has recognized four sites as World Heritage Sites in Nepal. They are Kathmandu Valley, Lumbini, Chitwan National Park, and Everest National Park.
