Jomsom Muktinath Trek falls in the famed Annaurna region. The journey takes you on an adventurous pilgrimage of Muktinath, the holiest Buddhist shrine in the Himalayas. This ancient site is dedicated to Padmasambhava and is originally called Chumig Gyatse by Himalayan communities. It is one of the important pilgrimage center for both Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims.
We will also visit Jomsom (originally called Dzong Sak). Once a fort, Jomsom lies on the banks of Kali Gandaki River. A visit to Jomsom will allow to explore the lifestyles and culture of the local Thakali people. Along the trail we will have plenty of time to experience the unique biodiversity and majestic Himalayan range including Annapurna and Dhaulagir, two of the worlds’ highest mountains.
